Overview
The Daily Payments Report in OmniPoint Order Management provides a clear, itemized summary of all payments received over a given date range. It is a crucial tool for accounting teams to reconcile OmniPoint Order Management transaction records with external payment processors (e.g., Authorize.net, Shopify, banks).
Daily Payments Report Details
The report captures every payment posted within the system—whether manual, check, credit card, or web-based (eCommerce channels like Shopify or Amazon). It aggregates these by sales channel and payment type, offering a consolidated view of incoming funds.
Key Uses
- Reconcile internal records with bank deposits.
- Verify payments from Shopify, Amazon, or other platforms.
- Identify discrepancies in expected vs. received funds.
- Audit teller or distribution center performance.
Instructions
Accessing the Report
- Navigate to the Accounting section of OmniPoint Order Management.
- Select the Daily Payments Report tab.
- Specify the date range using the start and end fields.
- Apply optional filters:
- Sales Channel (e.g., Wholesale, Retail, Web)
- Created by User – to filter payments by staff or teller
- Distribution Center – to view payments made at specific locations
- Click Submit to generate the report.
Reading the Report
The report includes a breakdown of:
- Payment Types: Check, Amex, Visa, Web Payments, etc.
- Amounts: Total received by type
- Invoices Paid: Lists which invoices each payment applied to
- Reference Details: Such as check numbers or transaction IDs
You can click on individual payments to see additional invoice and payment IDs associated with that transaction.
Using the Report for Reconciliation
- Export the report or view it alongside your bank or processor statements.
- Compare totals by payment method (e.g., total Visa payments) with your bank deposits or Shopify payouts.
- Match reference numbers to confirm transaction alignment.
- Investigate any unmatched amounts:
- Missing payments in OmniPoint Order Management?
- Overpayment credits not accounted for?
- Partial payments incorrectly recorded?
Example
If Shopify shows a deposit of $450.00 and the Daily Payments Report shows:
- $300 in web payments for Shopify orders
- $150 in Amex credit card payments linked to the same channel
You can reconcile that the $450.00 deposit matches the system records.
Archiving and Printing
- The report can be printed or exported for recordkeeping.
- It's recommended to archive monthly or quarterly reports for financial audits.
Best Practices
- Run this report daily or weekly to catch inconsistencies early.
- Use filters to isolate issues by user or location.
- Ensure all payments are applied to invoices before reconciliation.
- Check overpayment credits and refunds as part of your review.
