Overview
The Inventory Insight Panel in OmniPoint Order Management allows you to make informed decisions during order entry by viewing real-time inventory availability. It plays a critical role in managing allocation, avoiding over-commitments, and resolving backorder scenarios.
Field Definitions
Field | Description |
---|---|
On Hand | The current physical inventory available on the warehouse shelf. |
TBS (To Be Shipped) | The sum of all Unconfirmed, To Be Shipped, and Unshipped order quantities. Indicates demand that is consuming inventory. |
Available | On Hand - TBS . Represents inventory still available to fulfill new orders. |
PO (Purchase Orders) | Quantities expected from suppliers, but not yet received. |
Backorder | Confirmed order quantities that could not be fulfilled due to insufficient inventory. |
Instructions
Using the Inventory Insight Panel
- Click the Availability icon during order entry to launch the panel.
- Review inventory by warehouse location.
- Determine if sufficient quantity exists before committing the order.
- If stock is insufficient, adjust the ship date or split the order.
Note: For integrations, orders should not consume inventory until they reach a qualified status (e.g., To Be Shipped). Avoid over-reservation by ensuring unconfirmed statuses do not increment TBS.
Common Scenarios
- Negative Available: Indicates over-commitment; resolve by adjusting ship dates or sourcing more stock.
- Zero On Hand, Incoming PO: Use
PO
visibility to decide fulfillment timing. - Backorders: Monitor recurring backorders to spot supply chain gaps or set customer expectations.
Proper use of the Inventory Insight Panel reduces customer service inquiries, improves fulfillment accuracy, and optimizes warehouse workflows.
