Overview
OmniPoint Order Management supports flexible discounting at both the product and order levels. This guide explains how to apply discounts, outlines the different discount types, and clarifies how stacking works.
Types of Discounts
Product-Level Discounts
Applied directly to individual SKUs on an order.
You can apply a product discount in four ways:
Type | How It Works |
---|---|
Percentage (%) | Enter a discount percentage (e.g., 10%). |
Per Unit | Specify a dollar discount per unit (e.g., $2 off each). |
Fixed Price | Enter the final unit price you want to charge (e.g., sell at $75 instead of $98). |
Total Line Discount | Enter a total dollar amount to reduce from the line item (e.g., $100 off the line). |
You can apply product-level discounts to each line item individually.
Order-Level Discounts (Coupon Codes)
Applied to the entire order using a promotional or marketing code.
Instructions
Apply a Product-Level Discount
- Start a new order and add a product to the order.
- Locate the line item for the product in the Order Pad (right panel).
- Click the discount icon next to the line item.
- A pop-up will appear with four discount options:
- %: Enter a percentage discount (e.g., 10%).
- Per Unit: Enter a dollar value off per unit (e.g., $2.00).
- Fixed Price: Enter the final unit price you want to charge (e.g., $75.00).
- Total Line: Enter the total amount to discount from the line (e.g., $100.00).
- Note: After entering the discount value, click Submit. Do not press Tab before submitting, or the field may reset.
- The discount will appear as a separate line item total beneath the product in the Order Pad.
If you receive a Shipping Grid error when trying to apply the discount, verify that the shipping method and warehouse are correctly configured.
Apply an Order-Level Discount
- Navigate to the Coupons tab during order creation.
- Enter a valid coupon code (e.g., BOGOSUMMER).
- Click Confirm Coupon Code to apply it.
The discount will appear in the Order Summary section.
Order coupons must be configured by your admin team in advance.
Discount Stacking Behavior
When both product and order-level discounts are applied:
- Product discounts are calculated first.
- Order-level discounts apply to the discounted subtotal.
Example:
- Product price: $98
- 10% product discount → $88.20
- 10% order discount → further $8.82 off
- Final unit price = $79.38
This stacking method ensures accurate and sequential discounting—just like most retail checkout systems.
