For any order that is imported from Shopify and has already been paid and fulfilled, a return can be done in Orderbot, and the return will be reflected in Shopify. Please note if a return has been done in Shopify first, it will not flow back to Orderbot.
For returns, any products that are returned, with any amount of shipping will be refunded in Shopify. In the example below, we will be making a return for a product as the customer ordered the wrong one.
- Go to Orders > View Orders, and search for the order you want to return. Search for the Shopify Order number in the Purchase Orders field, or if you know the Orderbot OrderID, you can search in that field. Ensure that order status "Shipped" is selected as well.
- Click on the Order ID to bring you to the Order Detail Page.
- Click the Returns text on the top of the page to bring you to the Returns page.
- For the products that are being returned, you will need to select:
- The return reason. Generally this will always be return.
- If this item is being returned to inventory or not. This will trigger a restock in Shopify.
- How many of the product is being returned. This will ensure the right amount of money is being refunded.
- Optional. You can add notes about this return, and these will appear in Shopify.
- Click submit to process the return. Click OK if you're sure you want to proceed with the return, and the details of the return are correct. Once a return is created, you cannot reverse it.
- Once the return has been submitted, you will be brought to a screen which displays the details of the return. Similarly, you can see the return was processed in Shopify. Creating a return will generate a cleared credit, as the money has already been returned in Shopify. For more about clearing credits, you can check here.
- On the order detail page, you can see if an order has had an item returned already by clicking the Returns text at the top of the page and checking the return screen.
