So you have your shipping settings exactly how you want them, but now you have an order for a country you've never shipped to before. Or maybe you're setting up your shipping destinations for the first time.
- Go to Prefs > System Setup > Shipping and Tax Settings > Shipping Destinations.
- You'll see a list of letters. Find the first letter of the country you would like to ship to and click the + sign to expand.
- If you have never added settings for this country, you'll see a red X for each distribution centre you have active. Click the X to activate that warehouse for each country and state you would like to ship to. An active warehouse has a green checkmark next to it.
Note: If you have several warehouses, you'll have multiple pages. Click between the tabs to see your other warehouses.
- Set your default warehouse by clicking the yellow box next to that warehouse. This will turn it green as well, to indicate which warehouse is the default.
Note: If you have a website, your default warehouse for DTC orders on the front-end might be hard-coded. This means that you would need to make a request to support@orderbot.com to have it changed. Some fees may apply for website changes.
- You'll see dropdown menus for each sales channel that you have set up. Using this dropdown, select the shipping charge that you would like to use.
Note: For international shipping, you will also have to check the Shipping Method tab to verify that you have at least one method set to be used internationally or you will trigger an error when you try to place an order for this country. The same is true for a distribution centre–if you have no active method for that distribution centre, it cannot be selected on the Orderpad.
Note: We also have a series of training videos on shipping. You might to watch these if you're unsure what a shipping method or shipping charge is.
