This setting is useful for you if track inventory in orderbot, you frequently have large orders that include products that are out of stock, and you would like to automatically split orders to create backorders for products without inventory available.
Activating Auto-check Stock Status
- Go to Prefs > Order Setup > Order Settings.
- Tick the checkbox that says 'Check Stock Status on Orderpad' and click Save Changes.
- This will activate a setting that automatically checks a product's stock status at the time that you submit an order.
Placing an Order With Auto-Stock Status
- Next time you're ready to complete an order, when you click Submit , one of two things will happen:
- If all of the products on your order are in stock, the order will be made normally.
- If any or all products are out of stock, an alert will pop up that says: “Some items are out of stock. Do you want to save the entire order as a Backorder OR split the order?”
-
- If you save the whole order as a backorder, you will create an order with the status Backorder. This can be changed on the status dropdown menu when you're ready to convert to a regular order.
- If you decide to split the order, a stock status screen will pop up to show you which products will be split onto which order. Click Submit and the order will be split on the orderpad. Then just click Submit Order to complete the order.
This will create two related orders: the original order with the status Unconfirmed and the backorder with the status Backorder. The order will be the parent, and the backorder will be the child. This means that the backorder will inherit the details of the original order, including Other Charges.
