Order Guides allow you to set different pricing guides for different types of customers. You can set individual price guides for each sales channel, and even set up unique pricing for special customers.
Once you have set up your order guide templates, you can edit the price lists for products on the pricing tab of their product profile or using Batch Edit Products by OG. Future price lists can be set way in advance, and be approved and active the day you need them to.
For additional information, see our video series on products.
You must have order guide pricing for your products to be added to the orderpad or to be available to purchase on your webpage. This step is not optional in your initial setup. The 'base price' that you enter on your product profile is a starting point, but it is not directly used for product pricing.
Creating a New Order Guide Template
- Go to Products > Product Management > Order Guide Templates.
- Click Add New Template next to the sales channel that you would like to use.
- Several fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns will appear. When you're first creating a template, you must enter a name, currency, and select a payment gateway.
Note:If you want to use the Base Price as the "Price", enter 0 into the discount calculator, to apply 0 discount, then follow step 5.
- Once you have filled out your new template the way you want it, don't forget to click Submit. The page will reload, displaying a message letting you know that your order guide template has been created.
Here is a little more information about each order guide template setting:
-
Template Name - Enter or edit your template's name here.
-
No. of Accounts - This will show you how many accounts have been assigned to this order guide. If you have just created it, this will show as 0.
-
Currency - Select a currency from the dropdown menu. This determines the currency that will be used for all orders under this order guide, which will be assigned to specific accounts on their profile. (The currency cannot be changed, so be careful to select the right one.)
-
Pay Gateway - Select a Payment Gateway from the dropdown menu. Payment gateways allow you to process credit card orders through Orderbot.
-
Tax - Click the Tax checkbox if this order guide will be tax-inclusive. This means tax inclusive pricing will display on your website.
-
Active - This column shows whether or not an order guide is active or inactive. Once your order guide template is created, you can click the checkmark to deactivate your order guide, which will remove it from any dropdown menus.
-
Copy - Once your order guide is created, you can use the Copy icon to make a copy of your order guide. Note that you can only copy an order guide within the same sales channel.
-
Edit - Once your order guide is created, you can use the Edit icon to change the basic details of your template.
-
Now that your template is complete, you will need to move on to the next step so that you can create your price list.
Creating an Order Guide Price List
In the previous step, you created an order guide template. Now you will need to set up the price list that will be associated with this template.
- Click the New link to add pricing to your newly-created order guide template.
- Search for the products you would like to price. You can filter by category, tag or product. Click 'Search' to find the products you would like to price.
- Enter your pricing. Note that it is the price you enter in the 'Price' column that matters.
- Tax Include - If you have a B2B portal, you can use the Tax Include column to display prices that are tax inclusive.
- Original Price - If you have a B2B Portal, you can set Original Price and it will show it slashed out, and show the Price as the selling price. This gives the discount a visual effect.
- You can discount or increase your pricing by entering a number in the discount calculator field. In our screenshot below, for example, we've entered -50% as a discount. To increase its price, you would use a positive percentage.
Note:If you want to use the Base Price as the "Price", enter 0 into the discount calculator, to apply 0 discount, then follow step 5.
- Click the Copy button to apply your discount rate to the base price of the product. (The Base Price is entered on the product profile when it's first created.)
- If you enter a discount % in the Discount All field and click the Copy button, it will apply your discount % to all products that you have searched.
-
For Threshold Pricing (Optional):
Click the Triangle next to a product to set up Quantity-Based Pricing (also known as Threshold Pricing). - Scroll back up to the top of the page and click the Submit Changes button to save your pricing.
- You're almost done! All that you have to do now is approve your order guide and set an effective date.
Note: Pricing a parent product will not automatically price its child products. Pricing must be added to each product individually. Similarly, child items will not be order-able until a price is set for the parent product.
