This series of videos goes over shipping settings. It’s strongly recommended that you view the videos in the correct order.
We also have guides with directions in text and pictures, if you find that easier to follow. We currently have topics on Setting up Distribution Centres, Shipping Methods, Shipping Charges, and Shipping Destinations.
Step 1 – Setting Up the Distribution Center
Step 2 – Setting Up Shipping Methods
Note: Before activating any shipping methods, you must speak to your project manager to enable them to be set-up against your own accounts and your own negotiated rates with vendors.
Topics: Shipping Methods (e.g. Fedex, UPS, USPS), Fields: (Maximum Weight, Default Rates, Default Shipdays, Frontend/Backend, Domestic/International, Shipping Locations), Order of Priority
We also have a guide on this topic.
Step 3 – Setting Up Shipping Boxes
Topics: Box Types, Adding New Boxes, Setting Default Box, Checking Shipping Weight on Products
Step 4 – Setting Up Shipping Charges
Setting up different shipping charges under each DC and sales channel.
Note: When setting up grid pricing, make sure to create pricing for all potential price ranges. (e.g. If you only set a grid price like 0.01-9.99, you’ll encounter errors for orders $10 and over.)
Topics: Shipping Methods, Name Fields, Get Rates, Base Amount, Bind Product, Grid Pricing
We also have a guide on this topic.
Step 5 – Setting Up Shipping Destinations
Note: The system will not allow you to process an order on the front end for a country you have not set up.
Topics: Shipping Destinations, Dropdown Menu Options (Warehouses, Sales Channel, Shipping Charges, Setting Default), State/Province Shipping Settings
We also have a guide on this topic.
Step 6 – Setup in Action
Note: Actual shipping charges may different from get rates totals. (e.g. If the warehouse ships something in three boxes instead of two.)
